Nikola Tesla was born in Croatia, but he immigrated to the United States during his late-twenties. He was an engineer and physicist who focused his work on improving how electrical power was used. Although he is
credited with hundreds of patents, his most famous is the first alternating current (AC) motor in 1896. He experienced many hardships throughout his life, and unlike his competitor, Thomas Edison was never able to achieve major financial success. |
