Sandra Day O’Connor was the first female Supreme Court Justice in the United States. She was nominated by Ronald Reagan in 1981 and served until 2006 when she was replaced by Justice Samuel Alito. Prior to serving on the Supreme Court, O’Connor was the first woman to be the majority leader of the Arizona House, as well as a judge on the Arizona State Court of
