During the Civil War between two major ethnic groups, the Hutus and the Tutsi, an estimated 500,00-1,000,000 were killed by genocide an a one hundred day period. The genocide caused unrest among many other countries for either staying out of it or getting involved, eventually leading to an International Crime Court to handle war crimes.
