The Japanese American Citizens League was founded in 1929 with the goal of helping Japanese Americans who were experiencing discrimination. They have expanded their Civil Rights work to include not only Japanese Americans, but all Asian Americans. As of 2023 there are 100 chapters of the JACL, including a Twin Cities chapter that was established in 1946.
