Jackson Pollock was a leading American artist in the Abstract Expressionism movement. His painting was cutting edge as he poured or drip painting techniques. During the Great Depression, he worked with the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Federal Art Project. He also had his work displayed at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. His work influenced artists abroad, and after his death he had a greater influence on other American artists.
