Freud was a famous psychologist that founded the idea of psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis was the idea of treating a patient by having them talk about whatever comes to mind, such as, memories, dreams, and emotions. Freud would
often treat his patients using psychoanalysis while they laid down on a couch facing away from him. Freud also founded the idea of the super id and ego which focuses on the differences between the subconscious and conscious mind. During his career in the late 1800's through the early 1900's he developed many groundbreaking theories around these concepts. Some of his most famous works are “Interpretation of Dreams” that was published in 1899 and “A General Introduction to Psychoanalysis” published in 1920. |
