The Clean Indoor Air Act was first passed in 1975 in MN. It was made after shocking results from the Surgeon General about the harsh effects from smoking and secondhand smoke. Over time, more laws were put into place, with the latest in 2007, banning smoking from inside bars, restaurants, and other public places.
