Earvin "Magic" Johnson is a retired basketball player that won many titles during his career in the National Basketball Association or NBA. Magic played on the Los Angeles Lakers team during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s and retired in 1991 after announcing publicly that he contracted HIV/ AIDS. Magic's career achievements not only include Rookie MVP, Olympic medals, and ALL-star nominations, he also advocated for the education and awareness of HIV/AIDS in minority communities by spurring his own foundation for research and community access to resources.
